Tube Bending

BLM B38 Smart-L CNC Rotary Draw Bender

BLM B38 Smart-L CNC Rotary Draw Bender

Showing: Tube Bending Overview

Harco provides rotary arm, ram, and roll bending processes to form almost any tubular shape. With decades of experience and a broad equipment lineup, we handle everything from tight-radius mandrel bends to large sweeping curves — in round, square, and rectangular profiles.

Processes & Capabilities

Mandrel-supported bending capable of up to 180° bends. Delivers the tightest radii and highest precision for critical applications. Ideal for complex multi-bend parts with tight tolerances.

Large-radius bends, smooth curves, and coiling for round, square, and rectangular tube profiles. Perfect for architectural, structural, and large-format fabrication work.

Produces multiple radii in a single part without a tool change. Reduces cycle time and eliminates part handling between operations for complex geometries.

Tight-radius specialty work for short runs and prototype bends. Experienced operators produce precise bends on parts that require hands-on attention to detail.

High-volume efficiency — bends both ends of a tube simultaneously. Dramatically reduces cycle time for symmetrical or dual-end parts in production quantities.

Mixed radii within a single part, producing non-constant curves and complex sweeping shapes that cannot be achieved with fixed-radius tooling.

Tube Forming

Tube End-Forming Machines — Production Floor Overview

Tube End-Forming Machines — Production Floor Overview

Showing: Tube Forming Overview

Over 22 unique end-forming machines capable of producing from simplistic to extreme multi-hit forming requirements. Our equipment handles single and multi-station operations for flaring, expanding, beading, and reducing tube ends to exacting specifications.

Processes & Capabilities

Single and double-lap flares meeting MS33584, AS4330, and J533 specifications. Provides reliable, leak-free connections for hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid transfer systems.

Increases tube diameter for joining, fitment, or assembly purposes. Both ram and segmented expansion processes are available to match the application requirements and tube material.

Creates O-ring grooves and hose connections per SAE J1231, MS33660, and AS 5131 standards. Roll beading is preferred for most pneumatic and low-pressure fluid systems. Compression beading uses a different die-set approach — ideal for athletic equipment, lawn and garden, and personal sporting goods applications where a harder bead profile is required. Process selection is based on tube material, wall thickness, and application demands.

Ram and segmented processes to decrease tube OD for telescoping joints, press-fit assemblies, and specialized connection requirements.

Hydraulic Lines

Precision Hydraulic Line Assemblies — Finished Parts

Precision Hydraulic Line Assemblies — Finished Parts

Tubular hydraulic lines from ¼" to 2½" OD for heavy equipment, farm, and industrial sectors. From single prototypes to full production runs, we deliver precision-bent and end-formed hydraulic lines ready for direct installation.

Processes & Capabilities

Precision CNC bending combined with flared tube ends for reliable, leak-free hydraulic connections. Tight tolerances ensure proper routing and fitment in complex hydraulic systems.

Standard and specialty fittings including JIC 37° flare, 45° flare, and ORFS (O-Ring Face Seal) configurations per SAE J525, J524, and J536 specifications. We stock a full line of JIC nuts, sleeves, and braze-on fittings for cold-formed and brazed applications. All fittings are manufactured to SAE specifications for system compatibility.

Send us a sample or worn-out line and we reverse engineer it to produce exact replacement parts. Ideal for legacy equipment, discontinued lines, and obsolete part numbers.

Vendor-managed inventory and JIT delivery programs keep your production line running without excess stock. We manage scheduling, kitting, and delivery to your specifications.

We stock and process carbon steel (J525/J524 plated and non-plated), seamless stainless steel (SMLS SS), and other materials to meet your system requirements. Dimensional inspection is performed using our Romer Tube Laser system for complete verification of bend geometry and end-form accuracy.

Heavy equipment OEMs, agricultural machinery manufacturers, industrial hydraulic system builders, and aftermarket suppliers. We support Tier 1, Tier 2, and direct-to-assembler supply chains.

Tube Flattening

Flattening Die Set — Punch Press Tooling

Flattening Die Set — Punch Press Tooling

Showing: Tube Flattening Overview

Punch press operation — a cost-effective way to produce flat tube ends. Combines flattening, trimming, and hole piercing in a single die set, reducing handling and cycle time while maintaining repeatability across high-volume production runs.

Processes & Capabilities

Symmetrical flattening centered on the tube axis. Used for mounting tabs, bracket connections, and fastener attachment points.

Offset flattening with material displaced to one side. Provides clearance advantages in tight-space assemblies and asymmetrical mounting configurations.

Combined flattening and piercing in a single stroke. Creates a finished mounting point with fastener hole, eliminating secondary drilling operations.

Integrates a bend with a flattened end, producing complex two-feature parts in minimal operations for structural and support applications.

Multi-feature die sets that flatten and form the tube end into a custom profile. Supports unique geometry requirements beyond standard flat configurations.

Specialized forming where the tube end is reshaped into a crossover profile, enabling stacking, nesting, or interlocking assembly designs.

Slotting & Notching

Slotting Die and Fixture — Punch Press Tooling

Slotting Die and Fixture — Punch Press Tooling

Showing: Slotting & Notching Overview

Punch press or tube laser operations depending on detail and application requirements. These processes prepare tube ends for joining, assembly, and structural connections with precision cutouts that ensure proper fit-up and alignment.

Processes & Capabilities

Precision slots cut into tube walls for clip retention, spring insertion, or expansion/contraction allowance in structural assemblies.

Angled cutouts at tube ends that allow a tube to nest on an angle for welded tube-to-tube connections at specified angles. Creates precise mating surfaces for structural and frame assemblies.

Also known as a fish-mouth notch — a curved cutout that allows a tube to nest flush at a 90° angle against another tube. Essential for perpendicular tube-to-tube joints in frame and structural assemblies.

Cutouts along the tube sidewall for cross-member insertion, cable routing, or branch connections without end-of-tube access requirements.

Piercing, Mandrel Punching, Laser Processing

Pierced Tube Components — Assorted Finished Parts

Pierced Tube Components — Assorted Finished Parts

Showing: Piercing, Mandrel Punching, Laser Processing Overview

Tube piercing creates holes in tubular components for assembly, drainage, or fitment. Whether for fastener access, fluid passage, or decorative purposes, our piercing processes deliver clean, burr-free holes in a wide range of tube sizes and wall thicknesses.

Processes & Capabilities

Cost-effective hole-making process where pan-head bolts seat flush against the dimpled surface. Ideal for non-critical fastener holes and drainage openings where OD integrity is not required.

Maintains tube OD integrity by supporting the tube wall from the inside during piercing. Essential for telescoping joints and applications where the outer surface must remain smooth and undistorted.

For complex multi-hole patterns requiring precise positioning, our CNC-controlled and manual piercing stations handle intricate layouts, angular holes, and high-tolerance placement requirements.

Welding & Brazing
